Ian & Candice’s Crowne Plaza Wedding

Ian and Candice are both dentists which is cool because that makes them a couple who share the same profession like we do.  The dental theme carried into their wedding favors of toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss.  Maybe they felt guilty for having a candy bar set out for guests!  Ian and Candice are so easy to be with, it felt like we were just hanging out with friends all day.  We’re going to be shooting Candice’s sister Cortney’s wedding next year – she’ll be marrying the brother of one of our favorite brides (Tara) from a few years ago!  It will be awesome to see so many familiar faces at that wedding and to document two wonderful families coming together.  Though it was late in the fall season, the temperature and colors were just right.  We loved how the bridesmaids purple dresses made the orange and red bouquets pop – a very unusual but vibrant color combination that is visually stunning.  Look for the sea gull  made us all laugh as it marched right through the shot as the bridal party chanted “sea gull!” “sea gull!” sea gull!”  Have to say we LOVE the staff at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland, and the food and service is always superb!   The ballroom also has a unique look to it.  If available in your reception hall, we recommend uplighting the room.  It can transform any space from static to dramatic.  It also adds visual interest to the photos by enhancing the décor with a soft wash of color.  Their end of the night shot is one of my favorites from all of last year.  It’s in the street in front of the hotel  and you gotta love Cleveland for being “not busy enough” to allow us to take a photo in the middle of the road!

  • Shirley Lund - Congratulations Ian and Candice! Candice, your dress is beautiful!

  • Jim Unger - I’m a little late to the party, but I love this wedding shoot!
    The bride is so beautiful!
Every shot was fantastic, but my favorite was the couple shot above the cake photo (which is also awesome)!
    Thanks for sharing!
