The Wedding of Mandy & Eric…

Back on August 22, we drove up to Port Clinton, Ohio to the Catawba Island Club for the wedding of Mandy & Eric.  This was one we’ve been looking forward since we met Mandy the first time ages ago.  Mandy is one of the most organized, detailed, put-together, and yet laid-back brides ever!  She and Eric are so much fun and so outwardly focused, its hard not to enjoy your time around them!  After meeting them, it’s easy to see why they have so many friends!  The day was amazingly cool and breezy (almost unheard of in August), but perfect for photos.

Since Mandy is so detailed, we kicked up the detail shots a bit…

Eric thinks he doesn’t like being in photos, but he sure does work the camera!

Mandy is such a classic beauty!

See what I mean about Eric?  Even if he doesn’t enjoy it, he holds his own!

Love this of Mandy!

Mandy & Eric choose to do a First Glance, which was perfect for them.  And the amazing location provided a long pier for us to capture it!

One of my favorite shots of the day was Mandy sneaking up behind Eric:

One of the nicest parts of the First Glance, is that it gives the couple some time to be alone with each other.  Believe it or not, it’s hard to find time for that on wedding day!

That breeze was working for us!

The Island Club has so much to offer as far as photo locations.  We love ivy which has been proven over and over on this blog.  There was so much ivy on the side of this building, we almost lost Eric!

Love this one from Ted!

One of my favorite parts of this area of Ohio are these amazing cliffs against the water.  It makes me think of a Mediterranean island.

Here’s a little color for ya:

Right after this photo, I encouraged the ringbearer to give Mandy a kiss back and he proceeded to tackle her to the ground!

Mandy was so detailed that even the water bottles were personalized!

Outdoor ceremonies allow me and Ted to get so many different angles!

Thanks again guys!

  • Brantley Freeman - Oh my gosh guys! Probably one of my absolute favorite weddings ever! This was great… I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sweet shots of the couple! Plus, those detailed shots are pretty awesome too! *By the way… the 135mm is my new favorite lens! ha

  • Brittany - I sense a laid-back calmness in the brides that choose to get married in Port Clinton. And from one plaid bride to another… excellent choice! Ted and Rachel, you did an amazing job!!
