Justin & Katie’s E-Session

Back at the beginning of October we headed downtown to spend a few hours with Katie and Justin to photography their engagement session on a beautiful fall afternoon! We actually had the chance to photograph Justin’s brother Jason’s wedding back in 2008, and since we enjoy getting to see a lot of the some faces on Saturday, this was a perfect. Justin and Katie are a really laid back and easy going couple, and I think Rachel and I can relate to them on a couple of different levels! I know they were a little nervous when we first started out, but by the end they were pros! Check out a small sampling from their session…

Richard and Brantley’s Portrait Session

I know these guys have been eagerly waiting for this blog post, so I am thrilled to present (drum roll please) some images from Richard and Brantley’s downtown portrait session! Brantley and Richard are an awesomely (not sure if that’s a word) talented husband and wife photography team down in Columbia, South Carolina (be sure to check out their work by clicking here) who actually stumbled upon our blog back at the beginning of the year, and have been avid blog stalkers ever since! Brantley decided to shoot us out an e-mail a few months ago introducing herself, and asking about the possibility of us traveling down to Columbia to shoot a session for their two year anniversary this November. Low and behold, it turned out they’d end up being in the Cleveland area in July on business, so we decided to bump up our session a few months and show them around town a bit as well. They were quite incredible models in front of the camera, and we’ve all become  good friends since we  met up a few weeks ago. Not only are they amazing artists themselves, but its kind of scary just how much we all have in common with each other! Rachel and I will be traveling down to South Carolina to give a workshop for the South Carolina Professional Photographers Association this November, and we are really looking forward to seeing and spending some more time with Richard and Brantley during that time. Thanks again guys for allowing us the privilege of capturing your relationship through our lens. We feel tremendously blessed to call you friends!

Richard and Brantley allowed us to do whatever we wanted creatively, and we were thrilled to try out some new locations we’d scouted out.

There’s a ton of color downtown!

This idea has been on the books for quite a while, and I’m glad we were finally able to give it a try!

Brantley did have one request for her session: She wanted an awesome Linczak reflection shot! Sign, sealed, delivered!

Emily & Steve’s E-Session

When we first met up with Emily and Steve downtown Friday evening, we had blue skies, awesome evening light, and calm winds. About 40 minutes later, the clouds rolled in, and out of nowhere came a pretty nasty storm. Luckily we had just enough time to get some great images of these guys, and just barely avoided getting drenched (though we did almost got carried away by multiple swarms of Canadian Soldiers, eck). Sometimes photography can be a bit dangerous I suppose!

Thanks for a fun evening guys, even though the rain cut our time a bit short! We wish you all the best with the rest of your wedding planning! Check out a few previews…

It was honestly beautiful when we started!

Nice light…

What a great looking couple!

A sweet moment…

Some love for the hands…

Chris & Heather E-Session

We met up with Chris and Heather downtown a few days ago to get capture some engagement images for them. They are planning a Wisconsin wedding next May (Go Packers!), and we were happy to provide them with some images as a pre-cursor to the big day! On a side note, I’m extrememely proud of myself of actually parking downtown AND leaving without receiving a parking ticketing. Aside from that, another great afternoon of warm weather and fun shooting! Thanks for a great session guys! Here are some previews:

Playin’ around a little…

We’re pretty big fans of these rusty looking steps…

Natalia & David’s E-Session

We’ve been having some great luck with weather on our shooting days so far this spring, and this past Sunday was no exception. We met with Natalia and David a number of weeks ago to discuss their session, and we were thrilled with chance to work with them! Since they’re both attending Case, we thought it would be cool to start out around the campus and make our way downtown after that. We ended up shooting for just about three hours and really got a ton of amazing images, and as a bonus it was probably one of the nicest afternoons we’ve had all year! Here are some images…

I’m in love with my 85 1.8, you really have to pry it out of my hands most days…

Rachel’s shot of the day, I love the pink speckles of the blooming tree (no idea what kind of tree so don’t ask)…

This reminds me of a southern plantation…

I think these guys just walked right into this amazing light…

Lovin’ the light!

This is one of our favorite spots to shoot when we’re in the area…

Most of you photogs know where this is…

A little downtown to wrap up…

You guys rocked! We can’t wait to show you the rest of the images!

Josh & Megan’s E-Session

This past Saturday we got to meet up with Josh and Megan downtown to shoot their engagement session. Megan’s mom Vanessa actually owns a salon that Rachel happened to visit two Saturdays in a row last wedding season, and after checking out some more of our work, she decided she had to have us shoot her daughter’s wedding this summer! Since they live out in Chicago, this was actually the first time we met Josh and Megan, and I think we really hit it off right away! About 15 minutes into our session, I even found out that Josh and I both went to high school together!  This is definitely a wedding we’re looking forward to this summer, as it will be a little different than your traditional wedding day. Check out some previews from our session…

This is one of my favorites of the day…

Rachel’s view…

My view…

More lovin’…

A few individual portraits to wrap things up!

Thanks again guys for a fun afternoon! We’re looking forward to August!
