Meghan & Steve’s E-Session…

A little while ago we met up with Meg & Steve out at Holden Arboretum.  Even though we had a gloomy sky, we were able to get some amazing stuff with Meg & Steve!  Meghan is one of the most prepared brides I’ve ever met.  She was our first call for ‘09 by a mile, and she’s had all the major planning done for the wedding for over a year.  That’s what I call prepared.  Steve is a lucky guy, that’s all I’ve gotta say and by the way he is with her, you can tell he knows it!

Once again, I was jealous of the bride’s hair!  It doesn’t get much prettier than this:

I love the color of these grasses…

I bet you can never guess where they went to school???

With gas costing as much as it does these days, you don’t see many trucks like Steve’s.  So of course, we had to incorporate it into the photos!  This is Ted’s:

This is mine:

Thanks again guys!  We had a blast spending the evening with you!

Kristin & Adam’s E Session…

Okay guys, I’m going to make a considerable effort this week to get all the blogging from the past few weeks caught up!  But for today, let me introduce you to Kristin and Adam.

This couple found us through Amy and Rocky, whose wedding we photographed back in June, and are we ever glad they did!  It wasn’t hard to believe that they had both been models before, but they sure do have it going on!!!  Kristin is such a gem - she’s spunky and cute and she positively just sparkles when she looks at her man!  Adam actually has had practice modeling as a groom before so he shouldn’t have any trouble come next May!  They move in front of the camera in perfect sync with each other - no one would guess they don’t do this professionally now!

This is all them…

There is no other word to describe Kristin other than spunky.  This is her after she ran up behind Adam and tackled him (something she apparently does all the time)!

Adam is so sweet and gentle with her.  It didn’t take much to bring it out.

Paul & Holly!

The Monday before last we met up with another great photographer Paul Floyd and his wife Holly.  We know from experience, that it’s way too easy to forget about photos of yourself when you’re behind the camera all the time!  I’m so glad these two made the time to get some of themselves!  We always give our couples lots of direction to look their best in front of the camera, but we barely had our cameras turned on before these two started busting out the poses!  I don’t know if it’s all the experience behind the camera or if Paul and Holly were just born this cool, but the whole session was basically just following them around taking their picture!  Check their hot selves out:

Isn’t Holly’s hair just gorgeous?  I may be biased since I am a blonde too, but still…

The whole day went sorta like this, “Okay guys, lets get you over there…oh wait - forget it - what you’re doing is perfect!”  Here is Holly checking out her hot hubby!

Paul and Holly are mostly “cool”, but we grabbed some sweet stuff too!

Wade Lagoon was a special request from Paul, and I think it turned out pretty awesome!

Pretty close to professional models!!!

We had so much fun guys and didn’t even feel like we worked!

Katrina & Neil’s Engagement…

The Sunday before last we headed downtown with Katrina and Neil.  We met Katrina at a bridal show last winter and I felt an instant connection to her.  I think Katrina spends 90% of her life laughing and the rest of it smiling.  Needless to say, she is the kind of person that makes you happy to be around.  Not to be overlooked, Neil is tough, strong, and smart - I think they have a good fit between them!  Besides all that though, they have fun together and especially being photographed.

I loved Katrina’s whole outfit, but especially these little pointy shoes…

Katrina is all glowy - I just had to put one of her by herself!

This is Ted’s grab for the session.

I love how clear the reflection in Neil’s glasses is here:

This is now Ted’s favorite building downtown for awhile.

One last grungy spot before finishing up!

So starts the countdown till the big day!

Megan & Eddie’s Wedding

Megan and Eddie were hoping for a beautiful fall day for their wedding day, and that’s exactly what they got! We’ve enjoyed some gorgeous weather so far this October, and the 11th may have been one of the nicest weekends this month.   Not only was the weather perfect, but the decorations, the location, and the ceremony all came together perfectly!  We were happy because Megan and Eddie are so deserving of it.  These two are so fun together - Megan is the kind of person who lights up a room as soon as she walks into it, and Eddie is just about the nicest groom ever.  It is always a pleasure to photograph them as you will see from the following images:

A bridal portrait by Rachel…

I like Eddie’s GQ look…

The ceremony…

This is a cool spot we found near the back of the church…love the lines!

These two look like movie stars!

I love this shot of the girls…

It wouldn’t be an October wedding without a few pumpkins, would it…?

Another portrait of stunning Megan…

This was a must have for Megan! I think it really captured the feel of the day!

Did I mention we had some beautiful light to work with throughout the afternoon…?

Rachel and I enjoy taking unusual spots and using them to create some beautiful images…

A little different take on the cake cutting once again…

The first dance…

The grand leaving!

Thanks again guys! We had a blast!

Emilee & David’s E-Session

Last Friday we headed out near Hinckley to shoot Emilee and David’s engagement session at a few spots we’ve been wanting to try out. We will be heading to Cincinnati to shoot their wedding this coming May, and we were happy they choose to come into town just in time for some beautiful Cleveland fall weather! Even Birdy (she’s the one covered in fur) choose to make an appearance for a few images, even though she really seemed pretty scared of me for some reason! We had a perfect afternoon, and towards the end of the session we had some killer gorgeous light to work with. If only fall weather like this could last for a few more months!

Emilee’s yellow coat just fit the warmth and color of all the images we got that afternoon so well, I loved it!!!

We managed to grab a few of Birdy looking right at the camera!

We schedule all of our sessions later in the afternoon for lighting reasons, and when you get a beautiful day with minimal cloud cover, this is the amazing light you get right before the sun sets. This is by far my favorite image of the session, if not of the past few weeks. Look at that gorgeous light!!!

One of the last shots we got…

Thanks again guys, you rocked out this session! May, here we come!

Matt & Rachael’s E-Session…

Alright guys - get ready for some mass blogging in the next couple of weeks!  Last week, we went out to Gates Mills with Matt & Rachael.  We also got to meet the third member of the family Zoe (affectionately referred to as Peanut).  While Matt & Rachael were great and hilarious, Zoe really stole the show posing for the camera like she knew exactly what she was doing.  Of course that changed if she saw someone walking up behind us and she quickly turned into guard dog mode.  Pretty funny considering she’s only a puggle!

Check out her fierce face!

After a little while with the puppy, we opted for some time just with Matt & Rachael.  They are mostly silly and fun with each other, but we caught a couple moments where they were being sweet too!

Showing off the bling!

Another example of the same spot from my angle:

Versus Ted’s!

Matt is super tall and was bending down the whole session to get close to Rachael.  Here, he brought Rachael up to his level!!!

This last location was a suggestion of Rachael’s.  I love it.

Thanks again guys for the fun afternoon!  We especially loved meeting your little Peanut too!  :)

Tara & CJ’s E-Session

The Sunday before last we went out to Huntington for another engagement session, this time with Tara & CJ.  Tara’s parents have a beautiful home out by the beach with an old, peely, white barn in the backyard.  Of course, we got to use that before heading out to beach!  We had actually met with Tara’s mom for the initial consultation, so this was the first time we got to meet Tara & CJ.  What a surprise we had in store for us!  Not only are Tara & CJ star material in front of the camera, but they are also two of the nicest people you will ever meet.  They are so well suited for each other too.  You can just see excitement when they’re together.  You’ll see what I mean…

We’re counting down the days until we have these two in a gown and tux…

Not to put more emphasis on the bride than the groom, but Tara is way too gorgeous!

Remember that thing I said a few posts ago about arrows?  Yeah - found another one.

I think their natural expression is a smile!

And yet, here is some seriousness!

This following shot made me so happy! I just want to go on record saying that this was MY idea… ;)

Thanks again Tara & CJ - you two are nothing short of amazing!  We’re so glad to get to work with you!

Brad & Rachel’s Wedding

We spent October 4th with Brad and Rachel and their crew of family and friends. These guys were actually one of our very first couples to book in 2008, and it was great to finally see their big day come after all these months of waiting! We had a gorgeous October day to work with, and we had enough time to hit a few different locations around town prior to the reception. Here is a little taste of what we got throughout the day!

Love this shoe shot of Rachel’s…

The dress…

A portrait of the beautiful bride!

I was glad to see these brothers laughin’ it up prior to the ceremony…

Minutes before the ceremony, coming up the stairs with dad…

Everyone loves cute babies!

A casual portrait of the party…

It’s always nice to mix up the locations a bit!

Love the feet!

Some yummy light…

I’ve wanted to shoot this arch for a while now, glad we finally got the chance!

Who doesn’t love a smoke machine for the dance floor!!!

Thanks guys for a killer day!
