Kate & Bryan

The Saturday before last, we took a welcome break from weddings and headed out to West Side Market with our all star couple Kate & Bryan.  Kate & Bryan recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and wanted to do a session with us since they never got to do an engagement session.  So this was their “post engagement session.”  What can I say?  It was so much fun!  Kate and I had been brainstorming the previous weeks about location, clothing, and poses.  For all you brides out there, I learned some big things from Kate about posing - her secret is America’s Next Top Model!  There wasn’t a moment that our cameras were pointed in her direction, that she wasn’t perfect.  Check it out:

I love photographing them because I love their relationship.  These two are each other’s absolute best friends and you can’t not notice it…

Of course, Bryan wasn’t too far behind Kate.  He recently got asked to model for something or other - I think I see a future career!

This is my favorite shot that I got from the day.  It captures exactly what I had in mind for the session from when we first started talking about it.

One of the things I love most about shooting with Ted is that we see things so differently.  He got this shot seconds before I got the previous one.  He read the scene so much differently than I did!

This is my favorite shot of Ted’s.  I love Kate’s expression here, and how it looks like we walked up on them during a private moment.

She’s smokin’!!!

This one probably was shot by one of us testing the exposure while Kate & Bryan were getting into their pose, but I saw it and loved it.  To me, it shows their relationship in one passing moment…

Use…D other?  Love it anyway…

Kate and I had this idea simultaneously for this red door.  Does it get much more expressive than this?  I think not.

Thanks guys for everything - you’re awesome and we love you!

2 Years!!!

Two years ago today I married my best friend, and its has been awesome ever since! With all that we’ve done these past few years, it really seems like its been longer ( I mean that in a good way!!!). We are going to pray for some sun today and head out to Put-in-Bay for some relaxation, and get away from the busyness of wedding season for just a day! Feel free to check out some of our wedding images from two years ago on our South Carolina wedding photographer’s blog by clicking here. Love you babe!

Laura and Russell’s E-Session

Last Friday we headed downtown to meet up with Laura and Russell to shoot their engagement session around the city. Even though this was the first time we actually got to meet face to face, and Laura and Russell both admitted that they were nervous to have their picture taken, we discovered that both of them missed their careers as professional models!  We couldn’t seem to give them a direction that they couldn’t pull off!  Ted’s idea for this session was to mix up our normal locations downtown and push ourselves to find and use different places.  The combination of this and our amazing models resulted in these following images…

(stay tuned the next couple of days for another amazing session with a familiar couple!)

Julie and Dan’s E-Session

Last Sunday, we spent the evening with Julie and Dan out at Mentor Headlands.  This was my first time out there and I was pleasantly surprised.  It almost looks like a real beach!  Like, from the ocean!  After I got over my initial shock over this, we got to work with Julie and Dan who are not only some of the nicest people in the world, but also amazing in front of the camera!  Dan is the brother of one of our previous grooms Nick who got married to Kristin back in December and we were so excited to get to work with this great family again.  Obviously, that modeling ability runs in the family!

Anecia and Vince’s Wedding

Well, we didn’t have a wedding on Friday and Saturday this past weekend, but it sure felt like it!  Saturday, we did our very first Indian wedding at the Butler Museum of Art in Youngstown.  If that wasn’t enough, Anecia and Vince also had a Christian ceremony planned for the same day!  It felt like the whole day was run on high speed!  Even with the obstacle of hardly any time for pictures, we managed to come away with some great stuff!  Major kudos go to Brian and Susy of 2nd Mile Productions for somehow putting together one of their famous Same Day Edits.  You can check it out on their blog by clicking here.

We already knew Aneica and Vince are amazing in front of the camera, but what a difference on wedding day!  Anecia was the picture of exotic beauty and Vince couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off her.  We always say that wedding day produces its own challenges compared to an engagement session, but nothing stands up to the electricity that is between a groom and his bride on their wedding day.  Check these out!

No shortage of amazing details for this bride!!!

This is my favorite image that I got from the day.  I love the mystery!

I had so much that I wanted to put of Aneica on here, but I’ll restrain myself and leave you with this last one…

Okay, I lied.  I can’t help it that she is so beautiful!  One more…

I love horses so I was jealous of Vince for getting to ride one and of Ted for getting to photograph it!  I wish we could have incorporated this ceremony into our wedding somehow!

Ted and I were marveling all day about how different wedding photographs are for an Indian wedding.  I know that sounds like a stupid thing to say, but it really did change what we did and how we thought when we had them together.

It seems only fair that since I put so many shots of Anecia in the saree, that I should post one of Vince looking all dashing in his tux.  It makes me happy to see people happy to be getting married.  Doesn’t he look happy?

At this point, so much else had happened I felt like we were starting on a different day!  Great message from Father Brad and a beautiful, yet very hot, church.

Back to familiar ground!

My favorite family portrait.  Ever.

The reception was held at the Butler as well.  Loved the location, the artwork made the atmosphere so classy.

I definitely cried here:

Loved the color in this end of the night shot:

As he was packing up the gear at the the end of the night, Ted spotted these completely awesome and unrelated fireworks being set off in the distance.  Being the guy he is, of course he dropped everything and got way cool shots like this…

I told Ted we should start a different blog called “The Adventures of Ted and Rachel”, but then I realized that we don’t need anything other than the blog we already have!  What a crazy time this was, but also an amazing experience.

The Easa Family

This past Monday we headed out to Hinckley Reservation to capture some images of the Easa Family. Angie was actually a bridesmaid in Amy and Rocky’s wedding back on 6-7-08, and her and Mitch even made the blog post with their photobooth picture! This time we got to meet Beans (he’s the one with black fur and his tongue hanging out) as well as their little guy Coen (sorry Angie if the spelling is off!). Despite some bright sun that afternoon, we were able to find some nice light tucked away in a few spots, and got some sweet images of this good looking bunch! Thanks so much guys for allowing us to capture your beautiful family, we can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images!

Mercy and Mike’s Wedding

This past Saturday we had the privilege of photographing Mercy and Mike’s wedding in my hometown of North Royalton. We had photographed their e-session not to long ago down in Little Italy, so it was nice to be able to do some more “organic images” as I like to call them. The weather was beautiful, the couple was beautiful, and everything really fell into place all afternoon! Mercy had always wanted to some images on the train tracks out near Grand Pacific Junction, so we figured today was the perfect day to give that a try (even with an oncoming train in the distance)! These guys were awesome to work with, and they really gave us a ton of time to really capture some gorgeous images. Thanks Mercy and Mike for such a great day!

You know its been an awesome day when this is one of the last images you capture! Rachel took this KILLER image when we took Mercy and Mike outside for a few closing shots…

James & Judi’s Wedding

Rachel and I spent the 4th chillin’ with James and Judi at their Fourth of July wedding celebration. The temperature and weather were beautiful all day, and we were really thrilled to get a lot of time to spend on taking images of the awesome couple. One of the best parts of what we do is getting to spend each weekend with two people who are crazy about each other, and this weekend we could really tell just how much these two were in love! Thanks guys for a fun 4th of July! We had an amazing time tagging along for the day, and we hope you guys are relaxing comfortably in Fiji! Stay tuned tomorrow for Mike and Mercy’s wedding preview…

Peter & Jaclyn’s E-Session

We were excited to be able to do Peter and Jaclyn’s engagement session in downtown Cleveland, as its been the first e-session out there for us in a quite few months! The traffic was crazy for a Wednesday afternoon, and Peter and Jaclyn actually saw a traffic wreck while waiting for us to find a parking spot (which was a major ordeal for us as well)! When we actually got started shooting, the time just flew by, and these two were as natural as can be in front of the lens! It was a pretty windy afternoon as well, which resulted in a handful of killer “hair-blowing” shots! We ended up finishing our session out by the Rock Hall, which was consequently where Peter proposed to Jaclyn. Thanks so much guys for trekking through the city streets with us. We had a great time spending the afternoon with you! Stay tuned tomorrow for the first of our two weddings this past weekend…

Carly & Justin’s E-Session

After several weeks of crummy weather, we finally caught a beautiful day for Carly and Justin’s engagement session. We chose to travel out to Chagrin Falls for some small town scenes, and caught some killer light just as we started shooting! Engagement sessions are always fun for us to shoot, giving us an amazing opportunity to connect more with our couples, and really getting some beautiful images in the process. Thanks again Carly and Justin for spending your afternoon with us! You guys make an awesome couple, and we can’t wait for the big day to arrive!
