Dan & Joanna’s After Session…

Some of you might remember Dan and Joanna’s wedding from a few months back, and naturally we were thrilled at the chance to spend some more time with them at their after session this fall. These guys are the best clients anyone can hope for, and Rachel and I have really enjoyed getting to know them better these past few months. One of these images of Joanna has even made it on our new banner we are going to use at our upcoming bridal shows this coming year! Enough talking, onto the images…

Jason & Brittany’s E-Session

We met Jason and Brittany down in Chargrin Falls for their engagement session not too long after Michael’s and Allison’s session, and we were yet again greeted with some great October weather to shoot in! Eventhough Chagrin Falls is a little bit of a drive for us, it provides such an awesome backdrop for not only enaggement portraits but for weddings as well. Its great to see there are still some places that really capture the essence of small town Americana right around the corner. Brittany and Jason did great in the front of the lens, and we captured some really nice images!

Despite the fact that we get winter about 10 months out of the year here in Northeast Ohio, at least we can still brag about the fall color!

Jeremiah & Shanna’s Wedding

I know its been a while in between posts, but that doesn’t change the fact that we have a ton of stuff to share with you guys from the last month and a half! We have definitely been busy not only with the holidays, but with a ton of recent sessions, but stay tuned this coming week as we hope to have a new post everyday for the next week or so!

Jeremiah and Shanna’s wedding day was back on October 17th, yet it honestly feels like it was yesterday. Despite the threat of some nasty weather which could have put a slight damper on their plans for a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Mapleside, they stuck to their guns and the weather ended up cooperating beautifully! The middle of October usually dials up some amazing fall colors, and the 17th delivered on that as well! Enjoy some previews…

Formals can sometime be a stressful part of wedding day, so we try to keep them as painless and relaxed as possible. Doing them outdoors not only enables us to capture them in short amount of time, it also lets everyone relax a little more and allows to capture images that depict the relationships present in each grouping.

Heather & Will and Scott & Maria…

While we normally don’t post two couples on the same blog post, since both Heather and Will’s and Maria & Scott’s sessions took place on the same day, we figured why not! Actually, we traveled down to Cincinnati back in October to do both sessions, and luckily everything worked out really well! Since Scott and Maria live in the Cincinnati area, they figured that would make the best backdrop for their session. It wasn’t till Heather and Will, who we met at one of our bridal shows last year, mentioned they wanted to do their session down at Oxford University that we figured it would be best to correlate everything for the same day! We were lucky that we caught some beautiful weather, and it ended up being a great day trip for us as well! We started out with Heather and Will…

We shot a wedding at Oxford back in May, and it was nice to be back!

Keith & Shannan’s E-Session

We met up with Shannan and Keith last month hoping to shoot their engagement session, but the weather had other plans! Eventhough the rain moved in as we were getting started, we decided to go ahead and do a mini-session anyways, and reschedule their full session for the spring time. Since Keith is stationed in Alaska and won’t be back in town for several months, we wanted get capture some images  in uniform while we could! Shannan and Keith are one of several awesome weddings we will be shooting this coming October, and we are excited to working with Rachael from the always fabulous Kirkbrides! Looking forward to seeing you guys again this spring!

Stephan & Crystal’s Wedding

We packed up our gear and headed west (well, somewhat west) to Van Wert, Ohio, to spend the first Saturday in October celebrating with Stephan and Crystal on their big day! Rachel and I have never been to this part of the state before, and it was nice getting to see a real life small town in person! Eventhough rain threatened pretty much the whole day, we managed to get through the afternoon nice and dry! We always love getting the chance to shoot in new surroundings, and today was no different. Thanks again guys for making us feel so welcome, we had a great time!

Justin & Katie’s E-Session

Back at the beginning of October we headed downtown to spend a few hours with Katie and Justin to photography their engagement session on a beautiful fall afternoon! We actually had the chance to photograph Justin’s brother Jason’s wedding back in 2008, and since we enjoy getting to see a lot of the some faces on Saturday, this was a perfect. Justin and Katie are a really laid back and easy going couple, and I think Rachel and I can relate to them on a couple of different levels! I know they were a little nervous when we first started out, but by the end they were pros! Check out a small sampling from their session…

Matt & Jody’s Wedding

Eventhough September 26th started out with rain and clouds, Matt and Jody didn’t let the weather put a damper on their big day! We’ve been looking forward to working with these guys since we shot their engagement session a while back (which has seen been made a sample guestbook for display), and despite some changes in the plans due to weather, we were able to capture some really nice images indoors. We can’t emphasize enough the importance of having a good backup indoor location in case of rain, especially in Northeast Ohio where weather is quite unpredictable (to put it mildly)! The reception was held out at the 100th Bomb Group, and the reception festivites were kept running smooth by the one and only JR from Selective Sound. Onto the images!

kuhnle_wed_27

Last summer our good friends Brian and Susy Morris from 2nd Mile Productions gave us the great idea of using video lights to light most of our reception coverage, especially the first dances. It allows us to capture the ambience of the venue without distracting flashes, and results in what we feel is a more intimate and romantic image sequence of the dances. Thanks again guys for the great idea!

Dan & Joanna’s Wedding

Back on September 25th we spent our Friday with Joanna and Dan and family friends in Mentor for their big day. The ceremony and reception were held at La Malfa on what turned out to be a gorgeous early fall afternoon. Eventhough we didn’t have a ton of creative time with these guys, we still came away with some really beautiful images! Joanna and Dan opted for a first glance (at the last minute!), which always provides for a really emotional and fun sequence of images. La Malfa did an outstanding job as usual, and we were lucky to work with John from the DJ Crew, who kept the dancing going well into the night. We actually shot an after session with Joanna and Dan about a week ago which was phenmonal, so be sure to look for them again on the blog in the next couple of weeks. Onto the images…

Jessica & Brandon’s E-Session

Although we normally post all of our sessions on the blog in chronolgical order, we are breaking that rule for Jessica and Brandon (hey, we make the rules so we are allowed to break them now and then)! We shoot their engagement session a few weeks back, and since they are tying the knot this Saturday, we decided to green light their post to the front of the line. We first met Jessica back a few years ago at a bridal show where she was working in a booth right beside us. Fast forward a few years later, and we are getting ready to capture her and Brandon’s beautiful wedding! Rachel and I really had fun walking the streets of Cleveland with these guys, and we were excited to try out some new locations we’d recently scouted. Jessica and Brandon had no trouble whatsoever rocking out the poses, and we can tell that Saturday is going to rock out bigtime! Check out the previews…
